I’m just an outlaw
Desolation is my home
I’m just a gambler
I’m a healer lost and alone
In these cold dark streets
A hustler dies if he deals with me
Shoot fast as they fall
Staring straight down the barrel
Standing close to the edge
Staring straight down the barrel
Standing close to the edge
I’m just healer
Chasing dealers as they run
And I do the healing
With the bloodstains on my gun
In these cold dark streets
A hustler dies if he deals with me
Shoot fast as they fall
Staring straight down the barrel
Standing close to the edge
Staring straight down the barrel
Standing close to the edge
Fun Facts: This song featured guitar solos bouncing back and forth between me and Earl (the other guitar player). Our styles were different so it allowed us to really cover a lot of ground, At the time, my style was more bluesy. Big slow bends where a major part of my style. This is also where I started stretching scales up and down a single string. I picked a lot of notes and took full advantage of that fat Les Paul neck pickup.
Earl was much faster with his fingers .His legato was way better than mine. He could do those quick bends, tremolo stuff and he had little more flash. It was a very balanced guitar attack. I usually played a 1987 Gibson Custom Lite and 1984 Gibson Designer Series V. Both of those guitars had a fatness that worked well under Earl’s brighter Fender Stratocaster tone.
