Suicidal Love

copyright 1993

Drinking day to day
Summons my demise
Some preoccupation
With internal suicide

Sucked into a vacuum
While mommy’s taking pills
She calls up her old boyfriends
Just to cop a silly thrill

See your sister Sally
Locked up in a cage
She killed her fu#k!n husband
In a fu#k!n jealous rage

No one here beside me
Someone do me harm
I want to be a victim
Of this suicidal charm

This ain’t a new thing
It’s the same old s#!+
Sucking me under
Is this as low as it gets?

We all have this affliction we call suicidal love
It’s a constant condemnation
When it’s all you’re thinking of
Drinkin’ day to day
Summons your demise
Some preoccupation with another suicide

Tawdry little vixen
You couldn’t learn to hate
Another fallen angel
That you lead to heaven’s gate

Thought you’d make a difference
She never said a word
Soulless little devil
Everybody gets a turn

No one here beside you
Someone did you harm
Now you’re just a victim
Of this suicidal charm

This ain’t a new thing
It’s the same old s#!+
Sucking me under
Is this as low as it gets?

We all have this affliction we call suicidal love
It’s a constant condemnation
When it’s all you’re thinking of
Drinkin’ day to day
Summons your demise
Some preoccupation with another suicide

Songs Notes:

“Suicidal Love” is one of my absolute favorite song titles. It has a lot of connotations, which I find quite intriguing. As I moved further into 1993, my  my personal life thundered through more changes thus my writing reflected the turmoil. This song was my attempt to focus my angst.

Yes there are bad words in this one. While I didn’t (and still don’t) use profanity gratuitously in my writing, the use of it rather liberally in this song is meant to punctuate the intensity and outrage that drives the mood. This one is a speedy, aggressive song. It’s not thrashy but more of a punchy, Euro-Punk influence ran through a hard rock blender. It’s your basic Euro-Punk Metal Smoothie.

For this one, I took my own angst and dropped in a little sensationalism with dear old Sister Sally. I think Sally needs her own song because I’m sure she’s still a messed (bleep!).

Thank you for taking the time to dance in my Cranial Circus.
