Buried

copyright 2021 Cranial Circus

Show me where you buried my love
In an earthly grave
Under roses black and bold
Or in a tomb of jade

Does she slumber on the shore?
Under breaking waves?
Waiting for a final touch
From someone she once saved

Show me where you buried my love
Is she still alive?
Or is she merely haunting me
Mourning day and night

Does she hide behind a veil?
In shades of brightest white
Covering all the greater hate
That echoes through her mind

Show me where you buried my love
Grant me one more grace
I miss the warmth of sunlight’s touch
And moonlight’s pale embrace

I pray for one last evening stroll
Through midnight’s cooling rain
Every step hurts somewhat more
Yet each one is the same

Show me where you buried my love
And cast upon the sea
Every single memory
And every part of me

Show me where her body lies
So I can cry a last goodbye
And light a funeral pyre
All can see
